GENERAL ASSEMBLY

The ultimate authority in all matters relating to the administration of the association, shall be the General Assembly of the members which shall meet "normally once a year" to conduct the affairs of the Association. The following among other matters shall be dealt with by the General Assembly.

Election of Members of the Committee.

Consideration of the Annual Report of the working of the Association

Adoption of the annual statement of Receipts and Expenditure

Passing of the Budget

Amendment or repeal of any Bye-Law or enactment of a new Bye-Law

Consideration of any complaints or suggestions which an individual member may have to offer

Members wishing to submit amendments to bye-laws should submit it in 

     writing at least 10 days prior to the General Body Meeting

 

The Annual Meeting of the General Body shall be held once a year on the date appointed by the committee. The Agenda for the meeting shall be drawn up by the Committee and circulated among all the members at least 15 days prior to the date of the meeting. The quorum for the meeting shall be 15. The committee may call an extraordinary General Body Meeting on a request from any 15 members in writing for the consideration of any specific subject. This subject should in no case affect the Bye-Laws of the Association.

 

The President shall preside at the Annual Meeting, and in his absence, one of the Vice Presidents. In the absence of the President and Vice Presidents, the General Assembly shall elect a Chairman from among themselves. All questions shall be decided by majority of votes of the members present and voting. It shall be open to the President or Chairman of the Meeting to determine the manner in which the vote should be taken. Each member shall have only one vote; the President or the Chairman having the casting vote in the event of there being an equality of votes, except in the case of the Election.

 

Branches of the Association may be formed, subject to the approval of the association. They will draw  up their own rules, for local administration, keeping in mind the aims and bye-laws of the association. As far as possible, standardization of the annual subscription and life membership are desirable. All branches will remit 3/4 of their ordinary subscription and remit the whole amount for Life Membership to the parent body. This remittance and a report on their activities shall be made not later than April 1st each year.  Members Association should submit their application to the secretary of the parent body and the working committee of the Parent Body has the power either to grant admission or refuse it as per bye-law.

 

However, in places where branch associations cannot be formed as defined above, Old Boys are strongly recommended to establish Local Associations, which they shall manage in a way they think is best for them. The chief aim of those local association shall be to provide opportunities for Old Boys, whether members of the Parent Body or not, to meet occasionally by organizing socials, get-together, picnics etc. A General Report on their activities may be sent to the Parent Body at least once a year, not later than April 1st each year.
